Weekend Re-Cap… Christmas Parties & Sandwiches

December… the month of dashing.  Dashing to Christmas parties, dashing to shopping centers, and dashing to various travel destinations.  Dash away, dash away, dash away all. This last weekend was no exception. Friday we dashed home from work and got all gussied up for Erik’s work holiday party, to which I did not sport one of my own creations.  Instant fail on my part…oh well.  Tomorrow always leads to a new project, as they say.  However, I did sport a fabulous updo – thanks to training from my wonderful hair master, the lovely Lia.  I was really quite proud of my ‘do, but in our dash to the party, we completely forgot our cameras… bummer.

Our normal Saturday wake up routine usually always goes like this: I wake up bright and early and then, with encouragement from Erik, I lull myself back to sleep for another 45 minutes…I mean you have to relish as many mornings you can get!  Then, I officially get up, turn on CBC, have some coffee, and then enjoy a beautiful, quiet morning.  I usually spend my morning reading books, blogs, or magazines, or, now, knitting.  It’s an hour or so of pure serenity.  And, for Erik, it’s an extra hour of solid, full bed bliss. Perfect really.

Saturday was spent checking out the vendors at the Strathcona Market and chowing down on awesome Vietnamese subs. Nom, nom, nom.

In between all the serious holiday feasting we did squeeze in a run along the river valley. I have to say… I am seriously digging the sunny, sunny skies.  And… a magical evening with the cousins.
